Brian’s been pushing us to learn this old Robert Plant solo song for a while (and he’s done a great job working out the guitar part). The rest of us on the other hand, don’t really know the song very well but we did stumble through it a couple times last night. It’s actually starting to come together quite nicely. Considering Mr. Plant spends much of his time in Austin these days, maybe he’ll stop by some night and show us how to do it right? 🙂
Dennis Bruhn: percussion
Brian Harmer: guitar, backing vocals, helpful recording tips
Patrick McFarland: keys, backing vocals
John Viehweg: vocal
Chris Vreeland: bass
Thanks again to Brian Hoffman for helping keep the machines running!

I bought this used for pretty cheap: 2006 double cut LP Special with the crap “worn” TV yellow finish. I believe the fingerboard is rosewood based on the tone and texture but it is quite dark, appears to have been dyed. The finish was so bad I went ahead and sanded a bit of a contour on the top edge to be a bit more comfortable. I added Sperzels, Lollar P90s, replaced the bridge and loose inserts with a Graphtech Resomax and my tech gave it a fret job and setup. It’s pretty damn awesome now…
It’s become increasingly difficult to get more than 3 people to show up for a rehearsal these days. Thus, the creation of our trio “Los Tres Bobos” (the three fools). This was our first attempt to play this classic ZZ Top song and we did not get it right. However, for a few bars I thought it did sound pretty good. Here is the snippet:
Brian Harmer: Guitar, Vocals. Ceriatone amps: left side is HRM50, right side is JTM45.

“The Yes Men” are currently on a bit of a hiatus. At our last rehearsal we stumbled through this old Led Zep tune a couple of times. Our swan song 🙂
Another one I did at David Barrow’s home studio back in the day.
Our first attempt at a nice old Steely Dan song. Other than the blatant mistakes it’s not so bad 🙂
