This was one of the last projects I recorded on the SSL at Austin Recording. It was released on CD but somehow things got lost in translation from the original mix to the CD and it sounded a bit thin and harsh. Here I have gone back to the original mixes of some of my favorite tunes from the project:
Shawn Maddox: Guitars, backing vocals
Mike Howard: Bass, backing vocals, lead tripe
Andy Brownlee: pretty much everything else

wow. been looking for traces of andy, shawn and mike for years. if you dont remember i was the chief engineer at the backroom from 95 – 2000 (mostly) . Dale Graham was my mentor and i took over the chief spot at the BR for him. my band, Outland, played with WSF on occasion. They were, in my opinion, the most remarkable act in Austin. Still have the Textural Dyslexia CD. Brilliant. If i do say so, i believe you had paid me a compliment via the band that my mix one night was spot on for the band. lol….I may have met you…but many of those years are a fog. I reconnected with Shawn on FB (gem master that he is)….but have struggled to find any evidence of Andy…or Mike for that matter. always figured Andy would have moved on to something earthshattering! music or otherwise..
such music deserves to be heard. even after all these years. as a musician and song writer its the most painfull of pains to see songs languish in the shadows.
i should note …long ago i filmed in my head a full conceptual video for Primed. to this day..i can replay it.
Back in 08, I was in a choir with Andy at Texas State University and he gave me a copy of Textural Dyslexia. I listen to it on occasion, today being one of those occasions driving to work, jamming out. I came online to find any further news of the band because even 6 years later, I still love this cd. I’m sad to see that you guys have fallen off the map because it’s a pretty solid cd and I would definitely like to hear more if there is anything or any side projects. I’d also like to thank Andy for the cd as it has earned its place in my collection.
